Welcome to Nursery's website page!
Welcome to Nursery’s website page. Here you will be able to find out what we are learning about as well as see regular updates of us engaging in and enjoying our work.
During the Spring term, the topics the children will be learning are seasonal change and the changes that Winter brings. Later in the term, we will also consider the changes as we move from Winter to Spring. This will involve learning about lots of new and exciting things such as “What is snow?” and “What makes snow?” We will look at the properties of snow and investigate freezing and melting. We will also be learning about animals, paying particular attention to zoo animals. This will involve learning about different animal habitats and what animals need to do to survive.
The class books that we will be reading are Snowballs by Lois Ehlert and Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. We will be linking as much of our learning as possible together with enhancements in the Continuous Provision relating very closely to our current learning. In our Wider Curriculum, the children will be learning about hibernation and the impact that Winter has on animals and people. We will also be learning about different celebrations including New Year, Chinese New Year, Carnivals as well as learning how different cultures celebrate Weddings.
During the Spring term, we will be holding a Parent Event, focusing on Fine Motor Skill development. PE will continue to be on a Tuesday and Friday so please make sure that a suitable PE kit is in school. In the Spring Term, we will be working on changing into shorts and plimsolls so please ensure your child has a named pair of shorts in school.
