  • Parent author visit

    Wed 13 Mar 2024

On World Book Day, we have had a fantastic day celebrating our love of reading and linked to our 'Aspirational Concepts', considering possible future professions.

We had a visit from local author and illustrator (and parent), Stacey Bone. She inspired the children by taking them on a journey from when she started out as an artist to how she developed her own story. She shared an extract of her new story with the children and left them wondering what would happen next! The children then helped to create a cover for her book and develop a character.

Our School Community Garden is really flourishing. Thanks to Anita Bargewell and her amazing team of volunteers, who are making it in to such a wonderful environment for our children to use. These photos show many of the projects they are working on, including involving volunteers from Northumbrian Water and the local Clean and Green Team in recent weeks. If you have time to spare and are keen to support the voluntary work in the garden, please contact the office.
