Welcome to Year 1's website page!
Welcome to Year One's website page. Here you will be able to find out what we are learning about as well as see regular updates of us engaging in and enjoying our work.
During the Summer term, the topics the children will be learning are the first moon landing and different weather patterns. This will involve learning about lots of new and exciting things such as who won the race to the moon and when this happened.
The class books which we will be reading are Beegu by Alexis Deacon and Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We will be linking as much of our learning as possible together. In science the children will be taught the topics physical properties of everyday materials and seasonal change. This will involve
seasonal weather patterns in the UK and the location of hot and cold areas of the world in relation to the equator and the North and South Poles and sorting and comparing everyday materials.
During the Summer term children will continue to visit a local care home to take part in craft activities with the residents. PE will continue to be on a Wednesday and Thursday so please make sure that a suitable PE kit is in school.
