Welcome to Year 3 website page!

Welcome to Year 3’s website page. Here you will be able to find out what we are learning about as well as see regular updates of us engaging in and enjoying our work.

During the Spring term, the topics the children will be learning are Life in the Country and The Rise and Fall of the Romans. This will involve learning about lots of new and exciting things such as dissecting plants, mapping the human and physical geography of the local area, and the Roman invasion of Britain.

The class books which we will be reading are The Terrible Greedy Fossifoo by Charles Fudge and The Orchard Book of Roman Myths by Geraldine McCaughrean. We will be linking as much of our learning as possible together. In science the children will be taught the topics plants and scientists and inventors. This will involve exploring the requirements of plants for life and growth, and investigating how water is transported within them.

During the Spring term we will be going on an exciting residential trip to Ford Castle. We are also looking at a trip to a Roman fort. PE will continue to be on a Monday so please make sure that a suitable PE kit is in school.

Mindfulness yoga has become a hit in Class 7. Children have enjoyed practising it as a way to relax, reduce stress and focus the mind. They have been able to relate it to World Mental Health Day, which was the focus of a whole school assembly.
