Welcome to Year Five’s website page!

Welcome to Five website page. Here you will be able to find out what we are learning about as well as see regular updates of us engaging in and enjoying our work.

During the Spring term, the topics the children will be learning are Tudors and climate change. This will involve learning about lots of new and exciting things such as how religion significantly changed during the Tudor period.

The class books which we will be reading are Terrible Tudors by Terry Deary and The Window by Jeannie Baker. We will be linking as much of our learning as possible together. In science the children will be taught the topic characteristics of materials. This will involve filtering, sieving and using magnets.

During the Spring term we will be going on an exciting trip to Newcastle Keep and Bessie Surtees House. PE will continue to be on a Thursday so please make sure that a suitable PE kit is in school.

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Newcastle Keep and Bessie Surtees House.

Freya produced some excellent homework about the phases of the moon. She used Oreos to model what the moon looks like during each phase. Well done Freya!
