Welcome to Year Reception's website page.  Here you will be able to find out what we are learning about as well as see regular updates of us engaging in and enjoying our work.

During the Autumn term, the topics the children will be learning are 'All About Me', 'Autumn' and 'The Christmas Story'.
The class books which we will be reading are 'What Makes Me a Me' by Ben Faulks and 'We're Going on a Leaf Hunt' by Steve Metzger. We will be linking as much of our learning as possible together through the continuous provision and enhancements.  As part of our 'Understanding of the World' we will be studying seasonal change by looking at decay and the change in leaf colour over time.

During the Autumn term we will be going on an exciting trip to see the Pantomime. PE will focus on the development of basic skills. We will practise getting changed for PE. Please make sure that a suitable PE kit is in school on a Monday and this well be sent home on a Friday. Your child's PE day will be a Friday.

We even made our own bird feeders and hung them in the trees. We were also lucky enough to watch the process of metamorphosis as the caterpillars changed into butterflies.
