  • House of Destiny Lent Service

    Thu 29 Feb 2024

To celebrate the start of Lent, worship leaders from the House of Destiny led assembly this week, discussing what Lent means to Christians. As part of our link with this local Church, Panashe, their very talented music lead, taught us two lovely Easter songs which we will sing together when we visit the Church to celebrate Easter later in the term.

  • King Family Y6 pupils lead whole school Internet Safety Assembly

    Mon 12 Feb 2024

Y6 pupils in King Family delivered their Internet Safety assembly to the rest of school. Selected for the confidence they showed when delivering to their own family group in class assembly last week, the Y6 children showed incredible enthusiasm and team work skills to fine tune their assembly to deliver it to over 400 children in the hall this morning. They did a wonderful job and we hope it had a positive impact for younger children, hearing online safety messages from the older pupils.

  • EYFS Parent Space event

    Fri 09 Feb 2024

As part of their Space topic, EYFS invited their grown-ups in to school to help make some space themed items using lots of junk modelling materials. They had some great ideas and made lots of great rockets, aliens, UFOs and even a space buggy! They used lots of recycled materials and some other craft items, such as tissue paper, foil, pompoms and lots of glue to decorate our items! They had great fun – and so did their grown-ups!

  • Collaborative Learning Week - WB 13th February 2024!

    Wed 07 Feb 2024

Next week is collaborative learning week and the theme the children will be learning about is 'exploration'.

Each year group will learn about a different explorer or type of exploration and will be immersed in learning linking to this theme - they are very excited!

We would like to invite children and staff to come to school next Friday (16th Feb) dressed as an explorer! This could people such as a pirate/sailor, astronaut or even an archaeologist!

Fun homework linking to this theme will also be sent home ahead of half term.

We can't wait to see all the fun learning which will take place!

  • Safer Internet Day

    Tue 06 Feb 2024

Safer Internet Day - Tuesday 6th February

Our children enjoyed a Safer Internet Day assembly on the theme 'Inspiring Change'. For the first time in KS2, our Y6 pupils delivered the assembly to their 'family' groups, sharing their thoughts and ideas about being safe online with the younger children in their family.

As part of this, our KS2 children have been set a competition to design an 'Online Superhero'.

More information and resources about Safer Internet Day can be found here https://saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2024/parents-and-carers

  • Cross Country 23/24

    Mon 05 Feb 2024

Congratulations to the 25 children from Y5 and 6 who have given up their Saturday morning over the past 3 weeks to represent the school Cross Country team. Wherever they come in the race, we try to challenge runners to improve on their previous score as part of the personal challenge of sport. We were delighted that boy and girl teams scores improved week on week, suggesting that this message of determination and resilience was successful. Congratulations to our Girls' team who came runners-up over all and our boys team who were 4th. When added together, we were also runners-up in the overall competition. As the picture shows, for the first time ever, the final event was held here at Rickleton. Thank you to the 8 staff who turned up to help Mr Baker, who organises the who event, plus the lovely FORPS members who served refreshments. A lovely community occasion.

  • Tiny Tweeties

    Thu 01 Feb 2024

Nursery had a wonderful time with their Tiny Tasters visitor this half term. They learned all about healthy foods and how to use kitchen tools safely to then make their own space snack – Sweet Potato stars! They were delicious!
