Keeping Children Safe Online

Protecting our children on line is one of the most important roles for parents and school. This page offers advice and links about wide ranging online safety issues, from websites to technology management.

Advice on types of on-line abuse and how to report them are available from the NSPCC website link below or the CEOP report button linked below.

Our school 'Online Safety Policy' can be viewed on our policy page.

You can also report any concerns about online issues and people via the CEOP website below by clicking the 'Make a report' button.

A wealth of guidance directly aimed at parents is also available via the NSPCC website below.

Specific guidance on monitoring children's use of apps and restricting their use with setting etc is available from the safer internet website.

360 Degrees Safe

As a school, we use the national website '360 Safe' to monitor our Online Safety provision and teaching. This guides us on areas which need to be organised and delivered to best protect our community.

A '360 Safe panel' consisting of Mr Baker (Senior Leader), Mrs Robinson (Computing Lead) and Dianne Mowbray-Pape (Governor for Computing) meet three times annually to ensure criteria is being met to ensure our children, families and staff are given the tools they need to be safe online.

We're very proud to have a very high overall level against National Standards, as shown by the graph below.

For more information about the 360 Degrees Safe project, please see the website www.360safe.org.uk

Age specific advice

The leaflets below offer advice to parents as their children move through different age ranges, helping to agree boundaries and understand what is appropriate for the age of their child:

At Rickleton, we subscribe to 'City Learning Centres' online safety updates, to ensure staff, children and parents are up to date with changes and guidance.  These can be found on the newsletters page - Newsletters | Rickleton Primary School (secure-primarysite.net).
